Welcome to Art, Culture, and Spirit on the Silk Roads. Although this blog has been created to explore supplementary content as part of an Evergreen State College Individual Learning Contract (ILC), I truly hope it will grow and become much more than that. I met many amazing and passionate individuals during the “China and Japan: Traditional and Contemporary ‘Silk Roads’” academic program of 2016-2017 and I’m honored that a few of them will be joining me to continue our journey together by contributing their own research, writing, art, and photography.
We look forward to sharing original content from three different continents (Asia, Africa, North America). While the general focus will be the art, culture, and spirit of the Silk Roads from ancient to the modern era, our personal experiences in life will be at the forefront of everything we contribute.
